Jarvis Cocker

August 2, 2009 - Los Angeles, CA

Having Jarvis Cocker play on my birthday was probably one of the highlights of the year. After all these years, the guy hasn't lost one bit of magic. Ok, it's not Pulp circa 1995, but it's as close as you're gonna get for now.

Here are some more pictures we posted last week, but larger!

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart @ Seaport Music Festival

July 12, 2009 - New York, NY

We're all over the free shows happening in New York this summer.
South Street Seaport is a fantastic setting for summer entertainment and outdoor events. The River To River Festival at Seaport Music takes place at the heart of the waterfront on Pier 17. All events are free; there’s plenty of room to stand, set up a lawn chair, or spread out a blanket.
And we took some pictures there last Friday. Take a look at the latest indie sensations The Pains of Being Pure at Heart!

Jenny Lewis Plays Fourth Of July

July 9, 2009 - New York, NY

Perez Hilton, of all people, debuted Jenny Lewis' espionage themed music video for See Fernando yesterday starring members of Rilo Kiley, The Watson Twins, and arch-nemesis Michael Runion. Reports amongst blog commentators say, "it's hot" much like her patriotic performance at the River To River Festival on the fourth of July.

We put together some proper photos of her show that day by Dese'Rae Stage, so check it out.

Cursive @ El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles, CA- June 28, 2009

Cursive's latest album Mama, I'm Swollen has had a polarizing effect amongst their hardcore fans, but these indie staples now in their 30's are still kicking and screaming. Check out our photos from their show in Los Angeles.

Port O'Brien @ The Independent

Port O'Brien @ The Independent - June 25, 2009 - Photo by Amber Gregory

Port O'Brien's music was literally born out in the sea near Kodiak Island Alaska where Van Pierszalowski worked as a salmon fisherman every summer with his father. Van eventually met Cambria Goodwin to form a folk-duo which eventually turned into a full-fledged five piece band known as Port O'Brien.

Check out our pics from their show in San Francisco.

Art Brut @ Spaceland

June 22, 2009 - Los Angeles, CA

By Darren Kim

"How can we sleep at night when people are still buying records by Razorlight?" Eddie Argos lamented during his raucous Demons Out, a song dedicated to "shit" bands such as The Killers, Muse, and Coldplay.

We finally posted some rather large Art Brut photos from Spaceland. Check them out!
