Find A Cure
Embodying everything a rock goddess should be, Ida Maria enthralled the crowd at the Henry Fonda Theater with a performance laced with delightful energy.
The fact that Ida Maria Sivertsen came from a small Norwegian town - population: two thousand - without immediate exposure to rock music renders disbelief; the polished confidence she exhibits makes it seem like she's been belting heartbreak since the womb.
Though she dabbled in performing in her hometown of Nesna - teaching herself guitar, it wasn't until the family's move to Bergen at the age of sixteen that she began writing songs with fellow musicians. After a final move to Stockholm, Sweden, she formed the band still playing with her today. Local shows, a devoted local fanbase, and impressive demos rapidly led to a debut release.
With Fortress Round My Heart, Ida Maria has risen to popularity in both the UK and Norway. With several performances at US festivals and an American tour with Glasvegas under her belt, North American audiences have now also been exposed to her catchy tunes and infectious personality. At the pace she's going, it won't be long until we're all screaming along to "OH MY GOD".
