The Writing's On The Wall
Tilly and the Wall are back, and if my musical predictions are correct, 2008 will be their best year ever!
The band just finished recording their third album (due out this summer) and the people behind Tilly's upcoming campaign have been busy: an updated web site, a new single/video, a steady stream of news blurbs on prominent music sites and blogs.
This paid off recently when Tilly's one-off dance single Beat Control (which won't be a track on their album) caught the attention of internet celebrity blogger Perez Hilton who decided to post the video on his web site. 150,000 youtube views and two days later, Beat Control could very well be the crossover dance hit to potentially push Tilly and the Wall over the top.
In the meantime, the group is hitting the road for a short tour bringing with them new material (and a drummer) to test on their fans.
At The Glass House, most fans didn't seem to mind when the band opened with a mix of unfamiliar songs as they were probably too awestruck from the visual array of neon and silvery wardrobes with the backdrop of a soaring Jamie Pressnall (their tap dancing percussionist) dancing her butt off.
It's been a while since they last toured the country so expect to see long lines of seasoned Tilly fans mixed in with a heavy influx of newcomers itching to witness Tilly and the Wall's tap dancing madness for the first time.
And judging by the crowd's adoring response at The Glass House, this tour is obviously a warm-up for bigger things to come later in the summer.
So if you're one of those newbies itching to see one of the most unique live acts around, this is your chance to see them before they most likely start selling out larger venues across the country!
