The Lovely Eggs - Have You Ever Heard A Digital Accordion?

I like weird bands. Bands that make you stop whatever you're doing, think, "What the?" and hit repeat to figure out what on earth you've just heard.
That was my exact reaction while encountering The Lovely Eggs' Have You Ever Heard a Digital Accordion? on an NPR podcast preview of SXSW. The song begins and continues for the longest time with a sweet, repetitive twee melody that at the very end breaks down into a sound somewhat remniscent of the 90's riot grrrl movement and includes a lyric condemning those who've never heard a digital accordion (among never doing other things) to hell. This led me to their Myspace, which in turn led me to this video for the song which features the boy-girl duo from England tied in ropes against chairs, yellow duck tape muffling their mouths, as imposters in wigs lipsync the song.
Something tells me that their SXSW shows might be fun, so if you're heading down and your interest is sufficiently piqued, check out one of their many shows and let us know if they're as loony as they seem.
