Freelance Whales Announce May Tour with Shout Out Louds

Freelance Whales sure is busy lately! An ongoing tour with Cymbals Eat Guitars & Bear In Heaven, eight (count 'em!) scheduled SXSW shows, an upcoming album release and performance at the Sasquatch Festival? It's a wonder they're getting any shut-eye at all between wooing audiences and converting fans with their beautifully arranged, acoustic pop melodies, accompanied by synthesizers and mood-mellowing harmonic vocals. What a difference from when the five-piece was spotted performing on sidewalks and in the subways. What a well-deserved difference, too, though there is something innately charming about bands adventurous enough to play on the streets (which makes me hope they won't entirely give up the practice).

Toss in to the schedule a recently announced tour supporting Shout Out Louds, and I'm both exhausted just thinking about it and thrilled for two opportunities to see them in LA.

Weathervanes, the group's debut LP (previously self-released), is out April 13th on Frenchkiss/Mom + Pop Records.
