Here We Go Magic Premieres New Single "Collector"
March 18, 2010
Liz Caruso
Here We Go Magic recently premiered the debut single off their upcoming album, Pigeons, a song that begins with nothing but a bass line and keeps adding more and more elements that create a beautifully complex psych-pop sound. There is plenty there to hook you on first listen - a catchy rhythm, fantastic guitar and vocals occasionally accompanied by spurts of attention-grabbing harmonies - and plenty to keep you engaged through and beyond your second and third listens. It's one you'll gladly want to listen to more than once to fully catch everything that's going on.
Collector can be downloaded here off the record label's site for free. Well, for that and an email address. Insert bad joke here about the correlation between this stipulation and the song title like, "Ha ha, guess they really are collectors!" Pigeons, the group's second LP, will be out on Secretly Canadian Records on June 8th.
