It's been three years since Pantha Du Prince (also known as Hendrick Weber) has scheduled US tour dates. Thankfully, the recent release of Black Noise - his first on Rough Trade Records - brought him overseas from his native Germany, and his Los Angeles date last weekend at The Echo was one of just three cities he visited.

As Weber explains in the video documentary below, the title of his third LP Black Noise originates from the term used to describe silent noise, often during the "calm before the storm" before natural disasters occur. With everything from the album cover, to the songs sprinkled with chiming bells against darker techno beats, Weber sought to give the listener an impression that not everything is as it may seem - that this moment may seem calm, but we are always unaware of what is to come. ~ Liz
