Rasputina, everyone's favorite cello-toting band, played a show in New York Saturday night as support for their newest - and seventh total - release Sister Kinderhook, an album that happens to feature a new line-up, including the band's first ever male cellist.
Larkin Grimm opened, a songwriter that makes music in the vein of freak folk and has a really interesting backstory. For example, she was born into a cult, raised by several parents till the age of six, and traveled all over the world, it seems, before discovering natural hallucinogenics, the teacher who introduced her to them and her talent for singing. With a history like that, you've gotta have good songwriting material.
Dese'Rae Stage was at the show and snagged some pictures. Click here to see more photos of Rasputina and Larkin Grimm!
