Sharon Van Etten - "Love More"

Just about a month ago, Sharon Van Etten revealed that a second album, entitled Epic, would be on its way October 5th via Ba Da Bing Records. Back then I thought, "Perfect," and I'm still thinking the same. Sharon's beautifully crafted songs are a sublime match for the quickly approaching fall season; I can picture it now: window blinds open, sitting on the couch with a cup of tea, admiring the changing color of the leaves outside as Epic plays in the background (just an ideal scenario).

I have to admit "epic" is an awfully big title for an album to live up to, but if anyone can pull it off, it's Sharon Van Etten. Not in your typical over-the-top, overly produced sort of way that might come to mind when you consider what music might be described as epic, but with the raw emotion and honesty that she always manages to convey.

It won't be new to you if you already follow her, seeing as it was first shared a while ago as part of Weathervane Music and XPN's "Shaking Through" series, and has since been covered by Bon Iver, but the first taste off the LP "Love More" is available below. Just cause it's too good to not share.
