Tracyanne Campbell was as melancholy as ever delivering her deadpan tunes of heartbreak backed by the cheery sounding chamber-pop from her band Camera Obscura.
As the original "Debbie Downer" of indie pop, Tracyanne did occasionally break out of character with a smile or two while delivering highlights such as the latest foot-tap inducing track French Navy followed by old favorites If Looks Could Kill and Hey Lloyd, I'm Ready To Be Heartbroken.
My Maudlin Career, the follow-up to their remarkable 2006 album Let's Get Out Of This Country contains more of the same wonderful sixties hooks and sounds that fans have come to love from Camera Obscura.
The night ended with their trademark closer Razzle Dazzle Rose, an epic seven minute jangle filled with sentimental lyrics, somber horns, and brightly colored strums of the guitar.
Catch them on tour now!
