The Girls
Au Revoir Simone is an electronic dream pop outfit from Brooklyn, New York composed of Erika Forster, Annie Hart, and Heather D'Angelo.
Perhaps best described as a twee version of Ladytron, their music seems to be more inspired by their synthesizers and equipment than any particular genre.
Influences listed on their myspace page are “casio, roland, korg, alesis, rhythm ace, univox, yamaha, nord, and suzuki”.
Recently, the musically inspired film-maker David Lynch took notice of this dreamy trio and played one of their songs at his wedding which should be plenty reason for you to give their music a listen.
At their show, what you see is what you'll hear. Three ordinary girls from Brooklyn with extraordinary long legs playing a few songs that they – perhaps – practiced in their bedrooms together – perhaps – in pj's with occasional outbursts of pillow fights – just having a good time. Hey, a writer can dream too right?
